This is a super easy no fuss recipe that I make all the time--especially when I was still working and routinely got home late but didn't want to cop out and go out to eat. Just pour teriyaki sauce over chicken legs in a ziplock bag and allow to marinate in the fridge overnight. The next day, dump the entire contents of the bag into a foil lined baking tray and bake for 40 to 45 min at 375 F.
Voila! Done and ready to serve with virtually no clean up. It's not fancy, but it's tasty--especially with some of the sauce drizzled over a bed of rice.
Yields 6 servings
Ingredients:
- 12 chicken legs (about 4 lbs)
- 1 t salt
- 1/2 t pepper
- 1 t garlic powder
- 1 t ginger powder
- ¼ c sugar
- ½ c soy sauce
- 1 T mirin
Procedures:
- To make the teriyaki sauce, in a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, salt, ginger, garlic, pepper and mirin. Stir until everything is dissolved.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken legs in a zip lock bag, and allow to marinate in the fridge overnight.
- The next day, pour the entire contents of the bag into a foil lined baking tray.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes, turning over the legs halfway though. Serve hot with sauce.
